BankResearch is an independent Danish company whose activities comprise market data and market analyses on the Danish financial sector. BankResearch is responsible for "The Danish Financial Sector" which has been published since 2010 and among other comprise the annual risk ranking of Danish banks. This risk ranking has successfully identified most of the Danish banks which since 2010 have crashed or have had to let themselves be winded down - most recently Østjydsk Bank and Københavns Andelskasse.
BankResearch provides analytical tools within six main categories: (i) detailed profiles for individual banks, (ii) tailormade peer group analyses, (iii) benchmark reports, (iv) risk analyses on the basis of more than 80 key ratios, (v) branch office location analyses and (vi) advanced search tools.
BankResearch's database contains detailed data on 114 Danish, Faroese and Greenlandic banks divided into 53 existing banks and 61 banks that have ceased to exist due to crash or because they have been acquired or merged with another bank. The database contains more than 875 key figures from, and on the basis of, the banks' accounts, risk reports and solvency reports. BankResearch's database is based on annual financial data dating back to 2004 and half-year data as of 2009.
